Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
While pasta cooks, halve cherry tomatoes and thinly slice garlic cloves.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until softened and slightly blistered.
Drain cooked spaghetti, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water. Add pasta to skillet with tomatoes.
Toss pasta with tomatoes, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce. Season with salt and black pepper.
Remove from heat and stir in fresh arugula until just wilted. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
